Jim Wachowich — Your Candidate in Edmonton Centre

Edmonton Centre needs its own voice in Ottawa — a voice that’s strong, principled and experienced. It’s time to elect a member of Parliament who will do more than toe the party line. It’s time for a member of Parliament who will speak up for the people of Edmonton Centre and Alberta. (see PDF of pamphlet: j_wachowich1)

Heartfelt thanks to everyone that helped on the campaign and all those who voted! It was a spirited effort and we will build on the experience.

Saturday’s walk to reclaim the riding was fabulous and fun! (The Walk was covered by Global TV) What a fantastic community and what support! Thanks everyone.

Unlike every constituency in Alberta, with the exception of Edmonton Strathcona, the battle “rages on” in Edmonton Centre, block by block, with Jim coming on strong this week:   http://daveberta.blogspot.com/2008/10/beyond-edmonton-strathcona-buzz-battle.html

Strategic voting has never being more important — please talk to your NDP and Green pals! — and even more reasons to vote for Jim provided by:

Why are people changing their vote and going strategic? Well, the biggest risk is a Harper majority - so:

“Passionate, well informed politicians who truly care about their constituents and our country, politicians like Stephanie Laskoski and Jim Wachowich are the voices we want in Ottawa and my children will remember, I promise.” http://liberalpassionrenewed.blogspot.com/2008/10/forum-patrties-and-people.html

  . . . . And this from ‘canuckhockeygirl’:

As y’all know, I’ve been planning on voting NDP. Given that there are just over 1000 votes separating the Liberal and Conservative candidates [In Edmonton Centre], I’ll have to do some serious rethinking. It’s apparent (if these and other polls are anything to go on) that neither the Green candidate (David James Parker) nor the NDP candidate (Donna Martyn) have a serious chance of winning this riding. That’s a shame. However, there is a very definate possibility that the Liberal candidate, Jim Wachowich, could unseat Hawn and keep the entire province of Alberta from once again turning a horrible, just-been-strangled shade of blue.” http://canuckhockeygirl.blogspot.com/2008/10/my-vote-may-have-just-changed.html
